Thuan Vu, M.D.

Dr. Thuan Vu was born in Vietnam. After six unsuccessful attempts to flee the communist regime (one of which led to a long period of imprisonment where he was tortured), he finally escaped Vietnam by boat to Malaysia in March 1978 and several months later, arrived to Boulder, Colorado as a political refugee.

He attended the University of Colorado at Boulder where he was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Physics with Distinction. He received his medical degree at the University of Colorado School of Medicine where he won the Robert I. Slater Award, honoring the graduating medical student exemplifying the highest dedication to medical studies. After medical school, Dr. Vu completed internal medicine residency at Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center in Denver, Colorado and rheumatology fellowship at Scripps Clinic & Research Foundation in La Jolla, California. After two years practicing in Monroe, Louisiana, he moved to Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas where he founded Mid-Cities Arthritis Clinic in 1995.

Outside of work, Dr. Vu is happily married with three grown children. He enjoys watching nature documentaries, playing tennis and classical guitar, yard work, reading and writing, road trips across America especially at sunrise/sunset, and dreaming of going fishing with a German Shepherd puppy someday.
